USER DEFINABLE ‘SETTINGS’ AND ‘CONNECTION LIBRARY’

The system lets users choose from a library of industry-standard connection parts (pre-installed), or create their own in the CVS Connections Library. Once entered, Library connections can be used on any project detailed with CVSpro. Users can also trade and share Connection Libraries.

Additionally, CVSpro will automatically create custom connections. The unique thing is that as it makes these connections, it uses rules and guidelines (settings) that are user controllable. Settings files are also re-usable from job to job and client to client.

EXCLUSIVE SHAPEMATCH CONNECTION MATCHING

CVSpro uses an exclusive and ingenious method for matching structural members together called “ShapeMatching." ShapeMatching differs from all other connection matching methods because it defines BOTH the supporting AND supported member’s connections in one re-usable file that can be re- used from job to job.

Because the ShapeMatch file contains both parts of a connection, CVSpro users can match members together regardless of which piece is detailed first! You can detail the beam OR the column first and the connections will still be matched, insuring NO field fit-up problems.
In less-advanced methods of connection matching, the supported member must be detailed first. Then, the beam mark (1B1) + the supported end (Left or Right) is entered and the connection is matched together. This method requires that you must have detailed the supported member BEFORE you can match it to its support.
It also allows users to create their own ShapeMatch files (or simply use the pre-installed ones).

Version 8 also marks the introduction of a brand new type of tool set called the CVSpro Toolbox. CVSpro8 is the first system to successfully marry stand-alone program technology with LISP based tools. With the new Toolbox, CVSpro has expanded from being a structural only program to one capable of detailing Erection and Anchor Plans, stairs and handrails, ladders, roof frames, loose plates, embeds, and all sorts of miscellaneous items. Together, CVSpro8 and the CVSpro Toolbox comprise the most complete detailing system available, covering the entire gamut of a detailer's everyday work.

From detailers on the net...

"Named AISC's 1997 Hot Product of the Year, CVSpro is the ONLY totally stand-alone structural detailing system providing a unique interactive combination of frame and piece-by-piece detailing methods. Users can choose the powerful and flexible individual input method to detail all or part of a structure, or define the skeleton frame with our all new and visual Grid Navigators. With either method, CadVantage's exclusive ShapeMatch technology allows an experienced detailer to "set up" a job. Then, even beginners can detail with CVSpro by telling the system which shapes match together. This is done by selecting graphical icons representing framing conditions. All detailing, drawing creation, and Bills of Material (downloadable) are done automatically. Any detail can be changed at any time without affecting the rest of the job..."
