CVSpro8 automatically creates complete detail sheets based on information that describes the members
on each sheet – this means that users create input files corresponding to all the members on a job.
An input file (beams, columns, or braces) typically describes the main member itself, what it frames to, and what frames into it. Connections can be assigned automatically via CadVantage’s exclusive ShapeMatch technology, or defined individually for odd conditions.
Input files are given a shipping mark and assigned to a sheet (you control which members go on each sheet). Previously detailed members can be recalled anytime for changes – or altered and given a new shipping mark – in essence, making one member from another.
Sheets are processed in a step we call “building” a sheet. This is when CVSpro turns input files into completed, full blown
detail drawings. CVSpro incorporates the standards of whichever “Client” is assigned to that job, as well as the detailer “preferences” that were set – examples of these would be line colors, whether to use tick-marks or arrowheads, font choice, drawing and text scale factors, the version of AutoCAD being used, and other such “non-client” driven settings that are used to tailor the appearance of each sheet.
Building a sheet is a totally automatic, one-button procedure. If the information describing a member (an input file) is ever changed, shop drawings can be re-created and updated with the push of a button. A “built” sheet can be viewed and printed within CVSpro - or - imported into CAD programs like AutoCAD for editing / plotting.
And ... CVSpro drawings are the best-looking in the business. They follow accepted American standards with a unique “hand drawn” style.
